The Lily Li Future Foundation proudly organized an extensive Thangka Art Exhibition at Kykuit, the Rockefeller Estate. Celebrating the revered works of Master Niangben, this showcase delved into the deep spiritual and cultural essence of thangka art, an ancient practice characterized by its meticulous application of ground minerals to depict significant Buddhist figures and symbols.


Master Niangben, recognized globally for his expertise and contribution to the thangka tradition, began his artistic journey at age twelve. Under the mentorship of Xiawu Cairang, he devoted his life to mastering this intricate art form, often spending years on a single piece. His dedication extends beyond creation; Niangben is also committed to teaching thangka art to children in his community and has been instrumental in various social initiatives, including sponsoring medical programs for the elderly.
